WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah — Funeral services for Marilyn Hatathlie Klopfenstein, 81, of Coalmine Mesa, Arizona, will be held today, June 7, at 2 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home in West Valley City, Utah. Burial will follow in West Valley City.

Marilyn was born Nov. 18, 1936, in Coalmine Mesa, into the Áshiihí (Salt People Clan), born for Tsé deeshgizhnii (Rock Gap Clan). She died June 4, 2018, in Salt Lake City. Marilyn graduated from Chilocco Indian School in 1954 and was employed as a seamstress. She enjoyed weaving Navajo rugs and watching golf and basketball, especially the Utah Jazz and the San Diego Chargers.

Marilyn is survived by her son, Adair Klopfenstein; daughters, Regina Charley and Jana Rodberg; sisters, Ruth Tso, Jean Paddock, and Ruby Henderson; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Hatathlie Nez and Rena Hatathlie; husband, Jon Klopfenstein; and great-grandchild, Kenzley Montoya. Valley View Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Glen Chischilly Jr.

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Glen Chischilly Jr., 61, of Fort Defiance, will be held Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Mission in Fort Defiance, with Father Mendez officiating. Burial will follow in Natural Bridge, Arizona.

Glen was born April 25, 1957, in Natural Bridge, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Tódík’ózhí (Salt Water Clan). He died June 3, 2018, in Tucson.

Glen attended Window Rock High School and was employed with P&M Mine, Jim Stevens, Navajo Engineering & Construction Authority, Navajo Nation Parks and Recreation, and Fort Defiance Chapter as a heavy equipment operator.

Glen enjoyed watching wrestling and PBR, riding an ATV, spending time with family, tending to livestock, and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.

Glen is survived by his wife, Marie Yazzie; sons, Bryon Begay and Donovan Begay; brothers, Phillip Chischilly, Richard Chischilly, and Charlie Chischilly; sisters, Ella Holyan, Clara Manuelito, Georgia Chischilly, Sadie Dooline, and Corrina Chischilly; and one grandchild.

Glen is preceded in death by his parents, Mary C. and Glen Chischilly Sr.; maternal grandparents, Mae and Charlie Peshlakai; and paternal grandparents, Sam and Josebah Chischilly.

Pallbearers will be Bryon Begay, Donovan Begay, Sean Manuelito, Ryan Yazzie, Marcileno Yazzie, and Charlie Chiscilly. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Holyan Jr., Geralynn Henry, Clara Manuelito, Bobby Peshlakai, and DeShaun Henry.

A reception will take place at the Fort Defiance Chapter House following burial. Summit Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Greg E. Draper

CHINLE — A funeral mass for Greg E. Draper, 51, will be held Friday, June 8, at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Chinle. Burial will follow at the Draper family plot in Del Muerto, Arizona.

Greg was born May 4, 1967, into the Tl’ízí lání (Many Goats Clan), born for Áshiihí (Salt People Clan). He died June 4, 2018, in Tuba City.

Greg is survived his wife, Myra Begay Draper; children, Thomas, Casey, and Gail; mother, Evangeline Tah; brother, William H. Draper of Tucson; and sisters, Debra Draper of Fort Defiance and Sheila Draper-King of Tucson. Greg is preceded in death by his father, Tommy Draper; paternal grandparents, Henry and Garnet Draper; and maternal grandparents, Alfred Tah and Florence Clah.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Donations can be made to the Greg Draper Memorial Fund at Wells Fargo.

Edward Allison

TOHATCHI, N.M. — Funeral services for Edward Allison, 80, were held June 6 at the St. Mary Mission in Tohatchi, New Mexico. Interment followed at the El Paso Family Plot in Tohatchi.

Edward was born Feb. 10, 1938, in Tohatchi, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan), born for Tl’ógí (Weaver-Zia Clan). He died June 3, 2018, in Tohatchi.

Edward is survived by his daughters, Barbara Olvera, Edwina Allison, Eugenia Allison, and Elaine Allison; sons, Edwin Allison, Elmer Allison, Eldred Allison, Erwin Allison, and Earlando Allison; sister, Nancy Allison; and brothers, Bahe Allison, Mike Allison Jr., Phillip Allison, Anthony Allison, Patrick Allison, William Allison, and Edison Jones.

Edward is preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Mike Allison Sr.; wife, Betty Watchman Allison; brothers, Richard Allison and Carl Allison; and granddaughter, Rowena Dale. Pallbearers were Sheldon Allison, Lane Brown, Seth Brown, Blaine Allison, Mencia Jesus Sr., and Virgil Attson.

Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
