To the Shiprock Northwest High School softball team, success is measured by the work you put in – not the number of games won.

With an overall record of 8-2 the Lady Falcons have had nothing short of a successful season so far. They’ve turned every aspect of their game around and have proven themselves to be a worthy contender in local softball.

Their latest victory came Tuesday when whey defeated Navajo Pine High School in a double-header win. They defeated the Lady Warriors 19-4 in the first game and 17-1 in the second.

Shiprock Northwest’s first-year head coach Tyrone Brown said that adding another “W” to the list is always nice but the team is focused on things beyond wins and losses.
“We still need to improve in all areas. We need to continue to keep working hard and improve everyday,” he said. “Every second of our lives we’ve got to get better.”
