Ganado returns explosive quarterback-receiver duo with sights set on 3A North title

BURNSIDE, Ariz.

The margin between a good season and a great one circled on a single play for Ganado last fall.

The Hornets finished 7-3 overall after suffering a one-point overtime loss to Winslow, a game that proved they could compete with one of the 3A North’s top programs. With much of last year’s offensive core returning, Ganado believes it’s ready to challenge for the region title in 2026.

Now, with one of northern Arizona’s most explosive quarterback and wide receiver combinations returning, Ganado believes it has the pieces to challenge for a region championship.

Head coach Kevin Watchman enters his third season leading the Hornets after guiding the program from a 3-7 finish in his first year to seven wins last fall. The coaching staff remains largely intact with the addition of Chris McNabb, who joins the program after coaching as an assistant at Hopi.
