WINDOW ROCK
The Cody Jesus Invitational is circling back to its original start date as the annual event is slated for Saturday, July 4 at the Dean C. Jackson Memorial Arena.
Last year, Jesus had to reschedule his bull riding due to the Oak Ridge Fire near St. Michaels during the Fourth of July holiday as it was moved to Labor Day during the Navajo Nation Fair.
“We got our dates back,” Jesus said in an interview with the Navajo Times. “We had to move it during the fair because of the fire last summer. Now, we get a little time to prepare and make it better, and not be so crammed or rushed.”
His production crew has been working on the logistics since the first week of June as the event will feature some of the top local bull riders pitted against some of the bulls from PBR stock contractors Chad Berger and Steve Hawkins.
