Jacobs Custom Buckers Memorial Day Bullarama continues bull riding tradition in Breadsprings

Rain and cooler temperatures rolled across Breadsprings, New Mexico during Memorial Day weekend, but the weather did little to slow the action at the Jacobs Custom Buckers Memorial Day Bullarama in its 24th run.

The yearly event, organized by Jacobs Custom Buckers and headed by Jacobs Todechine, once again transformed the small reservation community into a gathering place for top rodeo and bull riding talent from across the United States, Canada and Mexico.

This year’s event featured a slightly different look. With longtime supporter Owen Washburn making his final trip to Breadsprings last year, organizers introduced a new bull team competition format. Stock contractors each brought three of their top bulls to compete alongside the weekend’s riders. The event drew 13 bull teams, including Cody Jesus Bucking Bulls. Laughter Bucking Bulls won the team competition with an aggregate score of 191.25 across three bulls.
