Rock Point was the only team to advance to the semifinals on Saturday. They’re the favorites to win the division, but the competition is keeping them on their toes.

The Rock Point volleyball team wants to take it a step further. After losing to Mogollon in the 1A state semis in 2019, the Lady Cougars have some “unfinished business” to take care of.

Behind a cache of weapons the 2021 volleyball season may have another contender at the 4A level.

The Ganado Lady Hornets on Saturday faced the Window Rock Lady Scouts volleyball team. It was a close match in each set with Ganado winning two before Window Rock came back and won the third set, drawing the game into a fourth. Ganado would emerge as the winner though after claiming the fourth, giving them three sets against Window Rock’s one and marking Ganado as the winner.

Given its tough start the Tuba City Lady Warriors are looking to find some rhythm going forward.
