Artists, collectors and patrons reunited to witness the Southwestern Association of Indian Arts’ Santa Fe Indian Market best of show ceremony last Thursday at the Santa Fe Convention Center.

Last weekend’s Free Indian Market in Santa Fe drew more than 25,000 visitors and brought in an estimated $2 million in sales for participating artists, the market’s organizer Gregory Schaaf said on Monday.

Even with the uncertainties of COVID-19 looming and only a month’s time for planning, the Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Association’s fine arts exhibition at Red Rock Park was a “tremendous success” this year.

From selling breakfast burritos with his siblings and parents in Shiprock four years ago, to working in front and behind the camera, Kody Dayish, 33, filmmaker and actor from Sanostee, New Mexico, started working on small film projects. In 2016, he created a team with his sister, Kolette Dayish, as production manager, and brother Kolin Dayish, as assistant director and screen writer.
