This year’s 100th SWAIA Santa Fe Indian Market brought over 1,000 art entries into the annual art competition, which were juried by about 40 judges at the Santa Fe Convention Center last Thursday.

“Rutherford Falls” has been a hit with Indian Country and it has yet to be renewed for a third season.

Diné and Annishinabe artist Kayla Shaggy recently self-published her own comic called “The Sixth World.”

Diné weaver Sally Black, affectionately known by many of her collectors as the “queen of baskets” and famous for intricate pictorial designs, suffered a tragedy last year that left her “starting from scratch.”

This year’s Gallup Inter-Tribal Ceremonial fine art exhibit brought in a record 1,400 entries and garnered $95,000 in sales, said the show’s coordinator Joyce Graves, who has been volunteering with Ceremonial for 30 years.
