The family of Bradley Paul Norman Brady has developed colorful names for its livestock.

The 13-year-old showed two large animals, Silver Dome in the beef division and Copper Penny in the goat division, during junior livestock judging at the 48th Annual Eastern Navajo Fair Friday.

“Each year, we try to use different themes in naming our kids’ animals,” Bradley’s mother, Jayme Brady, said. “Last year, we did some Hillbilly themes, and his steers were named Catfish Billy, Colitis and Bobby Ray. We do these themes just to keep it fun.”

This year’s theme centered on well-known saloons in the area, Jayme said.

“When my mother-in-law saw his steer, she was like we got to name him Silver Dome,” she said. “His other steer that we left at home is named Midnight Rodeo.”
