Tohatchi student to attend Tribal Nations Conference

WASHINGTON

This year’s White house Tribal Nations Conference will include a decidedly youthful element.

The annual conference, during which representatives from all 566 federally recognized tribes are invited to interface directly with the President and his cabinet, is a one-day event hosted by the White House and packed with dialogue about the relationships between tribes and the federal government.

The conference, scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C., is the sixth for the Obama Administration. The event also marks the sixth time top Navajo officials have traveled to the capital to engage in discussions with the President and other tribal leaders.
