PAC poll gives Nez slight edge over Crane in Arizona congressional rematch

WINDOW ROCK

A poll commissioned by a Democratic political action committee showed former President Jonathan Nez and Republican U.S. Rep. Eli Crane separated by one percentage point in an initial test of their Nov. 3 rematch for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District.

Arizona Eagle PAC released the poll July 28 after Nez and Crane advanced from uncontested primaries July 21.

The PAC reported that Noble Predictive Insights surveyed voters July 13-15. Nez received 38% in the initial ballot test, Crane received 37% and Libertarian Curtis Goodwin received 7%. Nineteen percent were undecided.

After respondents were given messages about Crane’s congressional record, Nez received 48%, Crane received 32% and Goodwin received 6%. Fourteen percent remained undecided.

The PAC selected the information used in the second ballot test. Arizona Eagle PAC opposes Crane and features criticism of his voting record and conduct on its website. The organization stated that it is not authorized by any candidate or campaign.
