GALLUP — Funeral services for Geneva J. Harrison, 54, of Gallup, will be held today, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., at Rollie Mortuary in Gallup. Burial will follow at a private plot in Tsayatoh, New Mexico.

Geneva was born Jan. 1, 1968, in Chinle, into the Kiyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). She was born for Deeshchii’nii (Start of the Red Streak People Clan). She passed away Nov. 4, 2022, in Gallup.

Geneva graduated from Gallup High School and attended the University of New Mexico-Gallup and the Santa Fe Police Academy. She enjoyed talking and spending time with her friends and grandchildren.

Geneva is survived by her son, Chad Harrison; daughter, Brooke Harrison; brothers, Justin Dedman and Lawrence Notah; and sister, JoAnn Notah.

Geneva is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Lee.

Chad Harrison, Anthony Jim, Lorenzo Notah, Damian Aragon, Paul Notah Jr., and Jay Yazzie will be pallbearers.

TOHATCHI, N.M. — Funeral services for Elaine Anna Allison, 52, of Tohatchi, New Mexico, will be held today, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m., at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tohatchi, with Father Dale Jameson officiating. Burial will follow at the Tohatchi community cemetery.

Elaine was born June 2, 1970, in Fort Defiance, into the Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). She was born for Tódích’íi’nii (Bitter Water Clan). She passed away Nov. 5, 2022, in Albuquerque.

Elaine graduated from Tohatchi High School and worked for T.A.O.S. for 12 years, Little Angels Daycare for 10 years, and St. Mary’s Church for 15 years. She enjoyed attending bingo, loved scary movies, and spending time with family and friends. She was the life of the party and a jokester.

Elaine is survived by her brothers, Elmer Allison, Erwin Allison, and Eldred Allison, all of Tohatchi, and Earlando Allison of Blue Canyon, Arizona; and sisters, Edwina Allison of Naschitti, New Mexico, Eugenia Allison of Tohatchi, and Barbara Carlston of Roswell, New Mexico.

Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Edward Allison; son, Tarrell Allison; and brother, Edwin Allison.

Pallbearers will be Darnell Dale, Darnell Foster, Steve Thomas, Kendrick Reed, LeAdrian Billy, and David Padilla.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Gonzalez, Dorian Allison, Lyle Allison, Dwight Allison, Erwin Allison, and Elmer Allison.

Following services, a reception will occur at the late Edward Allison’s residence (No. 24 Red Willow Circle) in Tohatchi.

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Richard Lee, 88, of Fort Defiance, will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m., at The Family Church Assembly of God in Fort Defiance, with Pastor Wilson Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Fort Defiance.

Richard was born March 23, 1934, in Red Valley, Arizona, into the Tódík’ózhí (Salt Water Clan). He was born for Dziłtł’ahnii (Mountain Cove Clan). He passed away Nov. 5, 2022, in Fort Defiance.

Richard attended Red Rock Day School and Sherman Indian School. He worked as a cook for the Window Rock School District and housekeeping and motor vehicle operator for the Fort Defiance Indian Health Service.

Richard enjoyed farming, leather crafts, and watching the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Richard is survived by his daughters, Marilyn Tapaha, Marlene Price, and Darlene Lee; parents, Mary Descheenie and Paul Lee Sr.; brothers, Paul Lee Jr., Leo Lee, Thomas Lee, and Wilfred Nakai; sisters, Mary Allen and Angela James; and three grandchildren.

Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Lee.

Pallbearers will be Lional Price, Shaun Price, Jimmy Tsosie Jr., Jimmy Tsosie III, Melvin Longtimesleeping, Ethan Billy, Ben Tabaha, and Josiah Kaamasee.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jordan Tsosie, David Freeland, Lewis Tabaha, Alfred Benally, and Leo James Jr.

Following services, a reception will occur at The Family Church Assembly of God Fellowship Hall.

FORT DEFIANCE — Graveside service for Sarah Rose Bahe, 1, of Sawmill, Arizona, is pending.

Sarah was born Sept. 22, 2021, in Phoenix, into the Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan). She was born for Táchii’nii (Red Running into the Water People Clan). She passed away Nov. 3, 2022, in Fort Defiance.

Sarah is survived by her parents, Rochelle Bahe and Tyler Begay, and three brothers and one sister.

Pallbearers will be Lester Chee, Francine Begay, Darion Smith, and Jack Segay.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rudy Dickson and Taylor Begay.

A reception will take place at the Sawmill Catholic Hall following the service.

Kelvin W. Shirley

GANADO, Ariz. — Funeral services for Kelvin W. Shirley, 64, of Ganado, Arizona, were held Nov. 9 at the Ganado Glory Temple Ministries in Ganado, with co-pastor Leta Chee officiating. Interment followed at the Ganado community cemetery.

Kelvin was born June 3, 1958, in Ganado, into the Tábąąhá (Water’s Edge Clan). He was born for Mą’ii Deeshgiizhinii (Coyote Pass Clan). He passed away Oct. 1, 2022, in Gallup.

Kelvin attended Ganado Public Schools and was self-employed as a kachina carver and carpenter. He enjoyed watching rodeo and Western movies.

Kelvin is survived by his wife, Marlene Shirley; son, Kevin Shirley; daughters, Melvina Shirley and Kerlene Shirley; sisters, Lorraine Teller, Laverne Jones, Darlene Shirley, Judy Willetto, Lenora Shirley, and Veronica Miller; and four grandchildren.

Kelvin is preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Wallace Shirley; brothers, Marvin Shirley and Ervin Shirley; maternal grandparents, Camilla James and Clarence Woody; and paternal grandparents, Louise and Billy Shirley.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers were family members.

RINCON MARQUIS, N.M. — Funeral services for Esther A. Lewis, 82, of Rincon Marquis, New Mexico, will be held Friday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m., at the Rincon Marquis Holiness Mission Church in Rincon Marquis, with Steven Archibald officiating. Burial will follow at the Rincon Marquis cemetery.

Esther was born Dec. 12, 1941, in Rincon Marquis, into the Naakai Dine’é (Mexican Clan). She was born for Dziłtł’ahnii (Mountain Cove Clan). She passed away Nov. 1, 2022, in Rincon Marquis.

Esther enjoyed herding and shearing sheep, clay modeling, going to church, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Esther is survived by her sister, Lita Arviso.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband, Ben I. Lewis; sisters, Mary Sandoval, Ruth A. Lewis, Annie Yazzie, Julie Benally, and Anita Begay; and brothers, Richard Sandoval, Leonard Sandoval, Jerry Sandoval, and Bill Sandoval.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Yazzie, Alvin Toledo Jr., Pierce Lewis, Lance Sandoval, LaDainian Wilson, and Robert Sandoval.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jarrett Gibson, Trent Lewis, Wade Lewis, Haven Gordo, Dickie Sandoval, Zachary Gordo Sr., Alvin Toledo Sr., Harold Yazzie, Marvin Yazzie, and Derrick Tsosie.

Following services, a reception will occur at the Rincon Marquis Holiness Mission Fellowship Hall.
