Bruce A. Wood

ALBUQUERQUE — Funeral services for Bruce A. Wood, 42, will be held Saturday, May 13, at 10 a.m. at the Alameda Mortuary in Albuquerque. Burial will follow in To’hajiilee, N.M.

Bruce was born Nov. 7, 1974, in Albuquerque, into the Táchii’nii (Red Running Into the Water People Clan), born for Ts’ah yisk’idnii (Sage Brush Hill Clan). He died May 5, 2017, in Shiprock.

Bruce was employed as a silversmith and enjoyed working on cars, playing blackjack, and spending time with his children.

Bruce is survived by his sons, Brandon Wood, Bruce Wood Jr., Julian Wood, Ryan Wood, and Thomas Wood; daughters, Alyssa, Alivia, and Sabrina; mother, Hazel Wood; and brother, Nathaniel Jake.

Bruce is preceded in death by his father, Arthur Wood; stepfather, Herman Sandoval; and sisters, Valerie Secatero and Chelsea Charlie.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Secatero Jr., Nathaniel Jake, Alonzo Yazzie, Anthony Pino, and Gene Manning Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Brandon Wood, Bruce Wood Jr., Julian Wood, Ryan Wood, and Thomas Wood.

A reception will take place at D.C. in To’hajiilee, following services.

Stephanita Nelson

GALLUP — Funeral services for Stephanita Nelson, 39, will be held Friday, May 12, at 10 a.m. at the Rollie Palm Chapel in Gallup. Burial will follow at the Gallup City Cemetery.

Stephanita was born Dec. 7, 1977, in Gallup, into the Nihoobáa nii (Gray Streaked-Ends Clan), born for Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House Clan). Her nali is Tl’áashchi’i (Red Bottom People); chei is Tábaahá (Water’s Edge). She died May 7, 2017, in Albuquerque.

Stephanita is survived by her parents, Roy and Dorothy Nelson; and paternal grandfather, John Nelson of Chichiltah, N.M.

Stephanita is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Bill and Mary Ann Martin of Iyanbito, N.M.; paternal grandmother, Betty Nelson of Chichiltah; and sister, Rosanna Nelson of Wingate, N.M.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Adah G. Pablo

REHOBOTH, N.M. — Funeral services for Adah G. Pablo, 93, will be held today, May 11, at 11 a.m. at the Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church in Rehoboth, N.M. Burial will follow at the Rehoboth cemetery.

Adah was born Sept. 19, 1923, in Rough Rock, Ariz., into the Áshiihi (Salt People Clan), born for Tl’áashchi’i (Red Bottom People Clan). She died May 7, 2017, in Gallup.

Adah attended Rough Rock Day School and Ganado Mission. She worked as a dormitory matron at Fort Wingate Elementary School for 35 years.

Adah enjoyed sitting outdoors, reading her Bible, and singing gospel hymns. She always acknowledged everyone with an open and warm heart.

Adah is survived by her sons, Frankie Pablo of Thoreau, N.M., Virgil Pablo of Window Rock, Michael Pablo Sr. of Albuquerque, and Tyrone Pablo of Iyanbito, N.M.; daughters, Vicky Hand of Albuquerque, Melvina McCabe of Albuquerque, Cheryl Harrison of St. Louis, Mo., and Terri Tom of Coolidge, N.M.

Adah is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Pablo; and son, Arthur Pablo.

Pallbearers will be Sean McCabe, Anthony M. Pablo, Robert Quintana, Chadwick N. Hand, Gabriel Burgett, and Michael Pablo Jr.

Virgil Otto Wyaco Jr.

ST. MICHAELS, Ariz. — Funeral services for Virgil Otto Wyaco Jr., 69, of St. Michaels, Ariz., were held May 10 at the St. Michaels Mission Church with Father José officiating. Interment followed in St. Michaels.

Virgil was born Aug. 11, 1947, in Fort Defiance, into the Naakai dine’é (Mexican Clan), born for Naasht’ézhi dine’é (Zuni Clan). He died May 6, 2017, in Mesa, Ariz.

Virgil graduated from St. Michaels High School and received his bachelor’s degree in comparative politics with a minor in economics. He worked with the Navajo Nation government for 30-plus years in various capacities, but mainly in upper management.

Virgil enjoyed leatherwork, basketball, football, and riding his horse Joshua.

Virgil is survived by his wife, LaVerne Wyaco; sons, Virgil Wyaco III, Tyrone Lantana, Everest Wyaco, and Leander Lantana; daughters, Eartha Wyaco, Crystal Wyaco-Little, and Janelle Lantana; mother, Ella Rose Perry; brothers, Michael Notah and Anthony Perry; sisters, Marlene Perry, Pamela Moore, Candy Cypert, and Kathy Ncliffer; and nine grandchildren.

Virgil is preceded in death by his father, Virgil Wyaco Sr.; and brother, Donald Wyaco.

Pallbearers were Everest Wyaco, Patrick Little, Angelo Wyaco, Myke Laseluta, and Levi Tay Wyaco.

Honorary pallbearers were Michael Notah, Anthony N. Perry, Virgil Wyaco III, Leander Lantana, and Tyrone Lantana.

Rollie Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
