More appointments to be announced in coming days

WINDOW ROCK

No new appointments have been announced this week by the Begaye-Nez administration.

Rick Abasta, communications director for Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye, said Wednesday that more announcements are expected to be announced in a few days.

He said the committee set up to go through the more than 200 applications that have come in is still talking to a number of candidates who have high-ranking jobs off the reservation and are considering taking jobs in the administration, even though, in some cases, they will be making less money.

He said Begaye and Navajo Vice President Jonathan Nez are currently talking to several individuals about coming to work for their administration but nothing has been finalized as yet.

In the meantime, acting people have been named to run the various positions until final selections are made.
