15 candidates for president face questions at 1st forum

Fifteen of the 18 candidates for Navajo Nation president spoke at Monday night’s election forum at Navajo Technical University. And some people weren’t impressed with any of them.

Now that 18 candidates for Navajo Nation president were certified Monday by the Navajo Election Administration, the next order of business was to draw the candidates’ names to determine in what order they will appear on the ballot.

After an attempted addendum and a thinly veiled accusation of pork-barreling, the Navajo Nation Council’s Budget and Finance Committee voted unanimously to appropriate $12 million from the Sihasin Fund for road projects over the next three years.
