WINDOW ROCK
Diné bull rider Brad Moreno hit another major milestone on Sunday night.
The 23-year-old showed why he’s one of the best as he captured the bull riding crown during the Home of the Navajo PRCA Rodeo at the Dean C. Jackson Memorial Arena.
“It’s cool,” Moreno said of his win. “I’ve come here for the Navajo Nation Fair and all the junior rodeos and jackpots they have here. It’s pretty cool to win it especially with it being a prorodeo against some of the big dogs.”
Moreno rode Empire Rodeo’s Diamondback for 88 points to collect the top prize of $4,684.
“I really didn’t know that bull, but I know the stock contractor and he talked to me before the perf and he told me that he’s the bull to win on,” Moreno said. “I believed him because I know him really well and he always hauls good bulls.”
