ALBUQUERQUE Despite having only two state qualifiers the Navajo Pine track team did not go home...

With very little depth, especially in the field events, the Lady Lynx won the state title.

In an impressive haul, the Pine Hill girls and the Ramah boys collected five state titles in the 1A state meet on Thursday.

Navajo Pine freshman Ryan Kee and Peñasco junior Gilbert Valdez have posted the best times in the 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs heading into Friday’s championships at the University of New Mexico Track-Soccer Complex.

With their tickets punched, the Ramah track team has an opportunity to bring home a boatload of hardware at today’s Class 1A state track meet.
