Gallup earns fourth consecutive trip to 4A title game

The Class 4A softball championship will feature two familiar foes: Gallup and Artesia. The top-seeded Lady Bengals earned their ticket Friday morning with a tough 4-1 win over No. 3 Silver in the winner’s bracket of the double elimination tournament at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho.

‘Every single mile’: Runners finish the Shiprock Marathon

Twenty-seven-year-old Fruitland native and Navajo tribal member Timberlin Henderson cruised to his second Shiprock Marathon victory Saturday. Henderson started the race in the first group and kept the lead throughout the 41st annual marathon, finishing at 2:44:22. He described the race as a challenging yet rewarding experience, with the support of the local community and the stunning scenery of the Navajo Nation keeping him motivated.
