Playing college basketball far from home was not easy for Nahatabaa Nacona.

Khari Dunn Jr. is just 17 years old, but he is already set to graduate from Williams Field High next week.

Bryan St. Clair, known as “Beaver” to his friends and teachers, recently signed his letter of intent for the College of Idaho. What makes this unique is the fact that he is signing on to play collegiate basketball and to compete on the track and field team in the long jump event.

Of all the state qualifiers, the Tohatchi girls’ basketball team was considered a long shot to make the 3A state semifinals.

The fourth-seeded Lady Bengals outscored the Española Lady Sundevils, the No. 2 seed, in three of four quarters to post a 63-51 win in the New Mexico Class 4A state title game inside the famed Pit in Albuquerque.
